MANAGING DIRECTOR

Richard Myrtle was born in 1957 and has worked in Insurance since graduating from University in 1980.

After several years of all-round general insurance training, Richard worked as a broker specialising in professional indemnity and directors & officers insurance until moving on to Legal Expenses Insurance in 1990.

Since 1990, Richard has specialised in all aspects of UK and overseas Legal Expenses Insurance, initially with The Legal Protection Group and latterly with Abbey Legal Protection, before setting up Universal Legal Protection in 1999. Whilst at Abbey Legal Protection, where he was the Director in charge of risk management, Richard negotiated "Accident Line Protect" (the Law Society’s After-the-Event personal injury litigation insurance Scheme) on behalf of the Law Society with the Insurer, Lexington Insurance Company.

Richard is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a Chartered Insurance Practitioner and a member of the Institute of Insurance Brokers.
